Boot issue after kernel update
A firmware bug affecting Linux Mint systems dual-booting with Windows 11 has been resolved. The issue, which manifested after updating to kernel 5.16.0-2204 LTS, caused the system to fail to boot, with the error message "ACPI region does not cover the entire command response" appearing in the dmesg log. The bug was tracked as MSFT0101 firmware bug after updating to the kernel 516 0 2204 LTS booting.
Solution found
The solution to the issue was identified and implemented by the Linux Mint team. Users affected by the bug can update their systems to the latest kernel version, which includes the fix. The issue was resolved on May 3, 2022, by Linares.
